2026 - 27 BYM Pastoral Counselor Formation Program

Formation Program

Sessions will start January 3, 2026, first and third Saturdays, 12:30pm to 4pm

Zoom option (or recording) and Canvas LMS.

An internship of 200 hours is required for all who wish to become counselors.

Cost - $1,200.00 for the program plus books ($250.00 - $450.00). Small additional fees appy to internship. Monthly payment option.

Gathering those called to serve the psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually suffering into a space of God's healing grace so that they can reach their fullest potential in serving God and His kingdom.

Course Overview
Join us for the formation program of pastoral counselors. Classes held at Be Your Miracle, 1400 Church St., Suite 400, Conway, SC Application Deadline is September 21, 2026.
Attend Sixteen 3–3.5 hour modules on two Saturdays a month from October 2026 to June 2027 and complete an internship.
Potential to become a certified BYM Pastoral Counselor working with a growing nonprofit organization dedicated to offering affordable pastoral counseling and spiritual direction in this area.
This pastoral counseling formation program is designed to help our mission come to fruition. After completion of the program, you will be a BYM Pastoral Counselor and eligible to apply for board certification with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC/IBCC), the premiere certification organization for Christian counselors in the United States. You will be required to adhere to the Ethical code of the AACC. Your will be able to practice and serve in South Carolina with our organization, but also in whatever area of ministry God calls you to. It may be merely to help you serve God’s children better in your ministry area in which you are already serving.
Pastoral Counselor Formation Modules
Module 1 God’s Gift of Consciousness foundation
Module 2 Opening into God’s grace/removing blocks to receiving God’s grace – Counselor and Client
Module 3 Basic listening and attending
Module 4 Solution-focused counseling model
Module 5 Building the Toolbox – The cr
Module 6 CBT, supportive or person-Centered therapy, and spiritual direction – Integration of psychology, spirituality, and theology
Module 7 Suicidality/Self Harm Prevention and Dos and Don’ts as a counselor for high risk and in general
Module 8 Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Depression, Catastrophic Thinking
Module 9 Crisis and Trauma, PTSD and Complex Trauma
Module 10 Couples therapy and Grief counseling
Module 11 Addictions
Module 12 Ethics Code - Documentation
Students may begin Internships if opting to do so.
Module 13 Case study practical lab 1 with peer and instructor input
